How to Make Golden Milk
Ingredients
2 cups of milk (substitute with any non-dairy milk for vegan option. I prefer coconut or almond milk!)
1-1.5 teaspoons of turmeric (adjust to taste)
1/2-1 teaspoon of cinnamon (adjust to taste)
1/8 teaspoon of ginger
1 teaspoon of coconut oil
Pinch of black pepper
Honey or maple syrup to taste (I use maple syrup!)
Cooking Instructions:
Blender Method
- Add the turmeric, spices, and sweetener to a blender.
- Heat your milk either in a small saucepan stovetop or in the microwave.
- Next, pour the milk in a blender with the other ingredients. Blend on high for 20-30 seconds until smooth and foamy.
- Lastly, simply pour into a mug and enjoy!
The blender method is my personal favorite! I feel it mixes the ingredients best and also provides a nice consistency that is similar to a latte.
Stovetop Method
- To make golden milk on the stovetop, add all the ingredients to a small saucepan and heat over medium heat while whisking until steaming and frothy.
- I would recommend straining through a mesh sieve like these before drinking.
- You can also use an electric milk frother for extra froth!
Iced Method
- To make iced golden milk, use either method above but skip the heating. Or, you can simply add the spices and sweetener to a glass with a splash of water.
- Next, mix into a paste then stir in cold dairy-free milk of choice and ice cubes if desired.
Microwave Method
- Place milk in a microwavable mug and heat up for 20-30 seconds to 1 minute.
- Next, stir in all ingredients until combined AFTER you microwave the milk.
- You can also use an electric frother to give your drink the consistency of a latte!
